Training
Take YogaDance out to the world by becoming a YogaDance Teacher. Let Your Yoga Dance (also known as Kripalu YogaDance) is offered twice a year at Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts and annually at Nosara Yoga Institute. Trainings are happening nationally, in Canada, and worldwide. If your studio or company wishes to bring the training to your community, contact us.
In an active an supportive environment, you will learn to create body friendly sequences of movement that encourage spontaneity and honor each chakra, lead a balanced and energizing class, and move confidently in front of others. You will be helped to choose music that moves your students, guide spirit-freeing improvisations that awaken the inner dancer in your students, and transform yourself as you lead others.
Let Your Yoga Dance teacher training is an intensive program. It is not a "vacation retreat". There is a lot to cover in a certain amount of time. You will be on a schedule and you'll be expected to actively participate in each session and on time.
Because we dance through the chakras, Let Your Yoga Dance is therapeutic. It is NOT therapy, but it is therapeutic. You may discover that achakra might be imbalanced in your life. Dancing with the charas can be a very joyous event or a poigmant one. If your heart has been recently broken, when you arrive at the fourth chara and dance with it, you might experience pain AND simultaneous healing. So do be aware of the fact that sometimes in Let Your Yoga Dance, you will discover both happiness and pain. You'll learn through this dance of yoga to make room and space with a compassionate heart for all you encounter along the way. This in turn makes you a more empathic teacher for your own students. You will not be dancing all day long. Part of the training consists of studying and learning that do not all have to be on the dance floor.
PEOPLE ARE SAYING about YogaDance Teacher Training:
Dearest Megha,
All morning I've reveled in and also am processing the magnificent week I've just experienced with you and our yogadance teacher training tribe at Kripalu. The rituals you created for us throughout meant so very much to me. The only other time I had felt similar was at my wedding ceremony 30 years ago. The deepest part of me thanks you for putting so much love, effort, time, and thought into the whole of our training, culminating in such a beautiful graduation ceremony.
I had a phone conversation with my mother this morning. She lives in CT. After sharing with her about my YogaDance certification she said "so now you have to learn how to dance?" This is my thanks to you for the inner critic segment of our training. Without just having had that fresh in every cell of my body and every fiber of my being, that sentence may have effected me in the way of the inner critic. But it didn't. It just twisted my brain for a nano-second. Then I turned toward my certificate (that I already have nicely framed) and turned back and said into the phone: "Mom, I am a Kripalu YogaDance Instructor; I know how to dance. I AM a dancer!"
I did this training for JOY. YogaDance Teacher Training has filled that need to overflowing capacity.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.....
