About Megha

Megha Nancy Buttenheim, is CJO (Chief JOY Officer) and Founding Director of a transformational movement practice and school called, Let Your Yoga Dance® LLC. This practice is also known as: "Healing through Joy." Let Your Yoga Dance is where Joy and Fun Meet Deep and Sacred.

From 1985-2020, Megha was a senior faculty member and teacher trainer at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, teaching and training thousands of people in yoga, holistic health, moving meditation, along with her own signature training: Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher Training. Presently Megha teaches trainings on zoom and Live (at Kripalu June, July, and Aug 2024), along with classes and workshops in Let Your Yoga Dance for all populations, including the elderly and people with Parkinson’s. She also teaches gentle yoga and qigong. Megha's credo: Everyone is a Dancer.

Megha has served on the faculty with the Wholebeing Institute of Positive Psychology since its inception in 2011, creating “embodied positive psychology” to bring positive psychology teaching tenets into body, mind, spirit. She worked closely with Tal Ben-Shahar for five years. Megha traveled with Tal and the Wholebeing Institute to lead a certifications in positive psychology both in Melbourne, Australia, Lake Tahoe, and Santa Cruz, California. She continues to teach in these certifications.

Megha is committed to bringing the dance of yoga to everyone, of all ages, including people who feel marginalized due to age, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, etc. To that end, Megha directs Let Your Yoga Dance Teacher Training for Special Populations throughout North America and Costa Rica. She led Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training for eight years, and leads Introduction to Yoga & Meditation and Let Your Yoga Dance workshops, retreats, and trainings in the USA and abroad.

Megha’s decade in professional theatre (pre-Kripalu), primarily as an actor in Shakespeare repertory companies, allows her to bring a wealth of music, song, improv skills, and professionalism into her work.

Megha is author of a book (and ebook): Expanding Joy: Let Your Yoga Dance, Embodying Positive Psychology, the first book written about movement in the world of positive psychology.

Her album:  Let Your Yoga Dance – with Megha, is very popular, as is her MP4: Moving With Your Strengths, a series of mini videos she filmed to introduce all 24 positive psychology character strengths into the body, mind, and spirit, using yoga, qigong, relaxation, meditation, and Let Your Yoga Dance.
