Earth, Ground The Muladhara – first chakra - represents the earth and solid matter. In our Let Your Yoga Dance experience, we begin the class in Chakra 1. We warm up the entire body, with special attention paid to the feet, legs, and tailbone. We are subtly teaching our students to connect to the Earth. Many people are not living on the planet, they are up in their heads or perhaps – way off the planet altogether. We are teaching people that it safe to let Mother Earth in to our consciousness – and to stay here. This Earth is our home.Pulsing, slow, rhythmical, enlivening music is used to warm up the body’s large muscles.

In chakra 1 we are honor the ground upon which we live, by letting our feet really feel the earth beneath us, digging in to Mama Earth. Remember: the music of the first chakra is AWAKE! Seventh chakra music puts us to sleep, but first chakra music always awakens!
