Manipura: Fire, Solar, Plexus, Power, Strength and Resilience. The Manipura – the third chakra – brings Power into this elemental mix of Life. Now the hot banquet begins! Turn on the drums, turn on Madonna as she tell us: “This is who I am, you can like it or not!” Turn on “Brave.” Dance your power, dance your authority. Get that body heating up and starting to sweat. Baba Olatunji, James Asher, Drum Sex, KDZ Drummers are all great third chakra options. We are making connection with one another other, seeing truly who is in the room. We are starting to cook our way through the floor.

The third chakra is often what people are waiting for because they want to fly. They want to be strong and brave. The third chakra gives us our guts back and reminds us that we can stand strong even when terrified, and move forward anyway. However: you can’t fly before you walk and get warm, so don’t ever start your class in the third chakra; we need our grounding and watery flow first.
