Let Your Yoga Dance

Let Your Yoga Dance in actionWhat is Let Your Yoga Dance?

Let Your Yoga Dance is a fusion of chakra-yoga and joyful breath-based power movements; combining yoga and classic dance steps and rhythms with music from many cultures. It is a dance of the multi-dimensional self, bringing levity and healing to the seven energy centers (the chakras) and the body in its entirety. This inspirational dance of yoga is for every body, for all ages.

What actually happens in Let Your Yoga Dance?

The TreeWe dance the yoga of the wild and woolly, the sexy and silly, the deep and delicious. We wrap ourselves in our biggest embodied selves while dancing beyond our dreams. We are held in the sacred arms of mother earth while simultaneously honoring her. We are shaken to our cores by the power of the sun, moon and stars. We dance our animal archetypes and our spirit prayers. We dance the serpent kundalini energy, inviting it to slither up from the bases of our spines, blasting us to freedom through the crown of the head.

TigersThis is a chakra dance explosion. Seven energy centers provide the basis for this dance of yoga. Through fabulous world music, we feel the grounding force of the first earthen chakra in our feet, legs, and tailbones. We spiral up through the senses to the sacrum and pelvis; our second chakra, dancing the pleasurable. We travel still farther, experiencing the third center of power, strength and solar energy. We are unconquerable in our warrior selves. In the center of the heart, we dance healing and loving kindness out to the world. We then blast into the fifth chakra with sweaty intensity, streaming across the room with unbridled bliss. Now we quiet down into the dance prayer of the sixth energy center, gently inviting our wild expressions back home to our cores. We gift back to ourselves all that we have given out throughout our lives. We find the unvoiced prayers of bodies, minds and spirits. In the seventh chakra, we move more slowly still into meditation and deep relaxation. We feel the pulse of our hearts, the bliss of our spirits, and the grounding support of mother earth beneath us. In conclusion, we sit still together in a sacred circle. Refreshed, rejunenated, at home in the self. Profoundly new.
